Brooklyn Nets star Ben Simmons has had a tough 2023-24 season. He’s played only 15 games thus far as he has dealt with a variety of injuries that have limited him.
Rather than try to push him to get him back on the floor, the Nets and Simmons have decided to just call it a season. The 3-time All-Star will miss the rest of the season and seek options to repair a nerve impingement in his lower back.
In the 15 games he did play, Simmons averaged 6.1 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 5.7 assists. He did show signs of being able to push the ball again and make dynamic plays for his teammates, but his injury continues to hold him back a bit.
Nets say Ben Simmons is out for the remainder of the season while he consults with specialists and explores treatment options for the nerve impingement in his lower back.

Simmons has one season left on his contract and the Nets will have to figure out the next steps for him. He has played in only 57 games for Brooklyn since being acquired from the Philadelphia 76ers at the 2022 deadline.
