Nets: Royce O’Neale out for Monday’s game at Wizards; Claxton questionable

The Nets say that Royce O’Neale will miss Monday’s game at the Wizards.

The Brooklyn Nets announced on Sunday that forward Royce O’Neale is out for Monday’s game at the Washington Wizards because of personal reasons, per Brian Lewis of the New York Post. On the Nets’ status report, it was also stated that center Nic Claxton is questionable for Monday because of tightness in his right hamstring.

Claxton, averaging 11.8 points and 8.7 rebounds per game, has missed the Nets’ past two games because of his hamstring troubles. David Duke Jr., Kessler Edwards, and Alondes Williams will miss the game because of their G-League assignment.

Before Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Hawks, the Nets said that O’Neale would miss that game and the game against the Wizards because of the aforementioned personal reasons. So far, O’Neale is averaging 9.3 points and 4.7 assists per game while shooting 40.7% from behind the three-point line.

Monday’s game will be the third time that the Nets and Wizards have played each other this season. Brooklyn leads the regular-season series 2-0.
