NEW YORK — Brooklyn Nets center Nic Claxton has had an unfortunate start to this season as he played in the season opener, but had to miss the following eight games due to his sprained left ankle. He was finally able to come back after ramping up with Brooklyn’s G League team and he made quite the statement.
“I was pretty much in a rhythm from the start,” Claxton said after putting up 10 points, 13 rebounds, and four blocks in Sunday’s 102-94 win over the Washington Wizards. Claxton looked like he never left and in fact, it looked like he had a lot of energy, possibly from how much time he missed.
“Just trusting my body, didn’t want to overthink it,” Claxton continued. “Just going out there and just knowing that I was good from the work that I put in and just having fun.”
Claxton had some big moments in Sunday’s game against the Wizards and as he has been known to do, he was pretty demonstrative on some of those highlights. It’s because he knew that he was ready to go. “hen I got the block, and I ran into the stands, that’s when I was like, Yeah, I’m back. I’m here,” Claxton explained.
