James Harden trade rumors hit a fever pitch last week when Shams Charania reported that the Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers were expected to engage in trade discussions ahead of the February 10 deadline.
Inside the Nets’ organization, though, head coach Steve Nash has a very different perspective on Harden’s allegiance to the team.
Before the Nets lost to the Denver Nuggets on Sunday, extending their current losing streak to eight games, Nash scuttled the idea of the Nets trading Harden, and called the reports “noise from the outside.”
Via ESPN:
“I’ve talked to James; he wants to be here. He wants to be here long term as well, so I don’t think anything’s changed other than noise from the outside. James wants to be here, we’re building with James and we think we have the best chance to win with James.”
According to Nash, the numerous reports that have come in the past few weeks don’t reflect what’s going on inside the Nets’ locker room.
