Nets let another one slip in Washington D.C.

Kyrie Irving suffered a right knee sprain in the Brooklyn Nets’ loss to Bradley Beal and the Washington Wizards on Saturday.

The Brooklyn Nets had the chance to earn their third consecutive win since early December with their matchup against the Washington Wizards on Saturday, having won their previous two games against the Detroit Pistons and Chicago Bulls. But the Nets fell short in Washington D.C., losing their first game in February 113-107.

Unfortunately for the Nets, they lost a little more than the game itself.

Kyrie Irving was forced to leave Saturday’s game early with a right knee sprain after he got tangled up with Bradley Beal off of a rebound in the fourth quarter. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Irving will undergo an MRI on Sunday.

Irving scored 11 points in the loss on 5-for-12 shooting (1-for-5 from 3-point territory).

Spencer Dinwiddie led the Nets with 26 points on 9-for-23 shooting (4-for-10 from deep).

Joe Harris had a strong showing, as well. He scored 22 points and had one of his best performances from long-range in 2019-20, finishing 6-for-11 from deep.

Jarrett Allen logged another double-double. He scored 13 points on 5-for-6 shooting (3-for-7 at the free-throw line) and grabbed 15 rebounds.

Garrett Temple scored 17 points on 6-for-14 shooting (4-for-10 from 3-point territory). DeAndre Jordan had 11 boards off the bench.
