Nets’ Kyrie Irving ruled OUT for Tuesday’s game at the San Antonio Spurs

Kyrie Irving has been ruled OUT for Tuesday’s game at the Spurs.

Brooklyn Nets guard Kyrie Irving has been ruled out for Tuesday’s game at the San Antonio Spurs due to right calf soreness. This will be the second game that Irving has missed this season because of injury. The first instance was Dec. 21 against the Golden State Warriors when Irving missed the contest due to right calf tightness.

Irving has missed 10 games this season prior to Tuesday’s absence. Eight of those games were in November as Irving was serving a team-imposed suspension and the ninth game was Dec. 10 against the Indiana Pacers when head coach Jacque Vaughn rested Irving and seven other players. Since this will be the second time that Irving will miss a game because of an issue with his right calf, it’s possible that this could be an issue that plagues him at various points throughout the rest of this season and possibly the playoffs.

Irving is averaging 25.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game while shooting 48% from the field and 35.6% from behind the three-point line.
