Nets’ Kyrie Irving not listed on injury report; expected to play Friday against Bucks

Kyrie Irving could play in Friday’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Brooklyn Nets guard Kyrie Irving is not listed on the NBA’s official injury report ahead of Friday’s showdown against the Milwaukee Bucks. With Irving not being listed on the report, it looks like he’ll be available to play against the Bucks. Irving was a late scratch for Wednesday’s 143-113 win over the Golden State Warriors due to tightness in his right calf.

According to reporting by ESPN’s Nick Friedell, Nets coach Jacque Vaughn said that Irving experienced tightness in his calf during some shooting he was doing before the Warriors game and Vaughn made the decision to sit Irving after that.

Besides Wednesday, Irving has not missed a game this season because of injury. He did not play Dec.10 against the Indiana Pacers because of rest and he missed eight games in November because of a team-imposed suspension.

Irving has been the second-best player for the Nets this season and has been playing at an All-Star caliber level to help the Nets maintain this winning streak (now at seven games) and win 11 of the past 12 games.
