Nets’ Jacque Vaughn hopes that Cam Johnson practices on Saturday

Brooklyn Nets head coach Jacque Vaughn said on Wednesday that he hopes that Cam Johnson (hamstring) will be able to practice on Saturday.

Brooklyn Nets forward Cam Johnson has not played in a game this preseason ever since he suffered a mild strain of his left hamstring during an on-court workout the week before training camp began. Since Johnson wasn’t able to play in any of the four preseason games, Nets head coach Jacque Vaughn hopes that Johnson is able to practice on Saturday.

As part of Brooklyn’s pre-game availability before facing the Miami Heat on Wednesday, Vaughn, per Brian Lewis of the New York Post, said that he hoped that Johnson was able to practice at some point, especially since the Nets have their game of the regular season on Oct. 25 against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

During Media Day, Johnson said that while the hamstring strain was just mild, that the team would be cautious with his injury so that he lessens the chance of a setback. However, Johnson also said at the time that he planned to play in the preseason at some point, but that did not happen either.
