After a lackluster couple of months following a 13-10 beginning to this season, the Brooklyn Nets have some ground to make up in the Eastern Conference. While Brooklyn does not have a lot of time to make up that ground given that they have just 22 games remaining, they have some great news for March.
According to Tankathon.com, the Nets have one of the easiest schedules in the NBA for the rest of the season heading into Monday’s slate of games. The only teams with an easier schedule than Brooklyn are the Orlando Magic, Miami Heat, and the Boston Celtics.
More importantly, the Nets have an easier schedule to end the season than the teams directly ahead of them in the standings like the Atlanta Hawks, who they picked up two crucial wins against in the past week and the Chicago Bulls, who are four games ahead of Brooklyn in the ninth seed.
At this point, the Nets are unlikely to make the playoffs outright as they are 10.5 games behind the sixth-seeded Orlando Magic and Brooklyn has just 22 games left to make up the difference. However, the Nets have won three of their past four games and will good chances against their next four opponents, starting with the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday.
