After the Brooklyn Nets fell short of a trip to the Eastern Conference Finals, let alone the NBA Finals, Nets GM Sean Marks opened up on what’s next for the franchise and confirmed that the roster will look different for next season.
On Monday Marks said the Nets will “look at every position on the roster like we always do. We’ll gather input, Steve (Nash) and I will gather input from the rest of the coaching staff and from players — Inevitably there’s going to be change here.”
Expect Marks to take a look at some of the free agents available this summer, especially at the center position. As for players that were on this Brooklyn roster last season, the Marks said some players will have to decide if they want to remain with the organization.
“There’s going to have to be changes. They may not all be because of the decisions we decide to make. Our players have to make these decisions too.”
Marks is referring to players with player options and those testing free agency. Spencer Dinwiddie, for one, is reportedly expected to opt out and test free agency.
