The Brooklyn Nets will get some more offensive firepower on Thursday night and a player who knows their opponent very well as guard Kyrie Irving is available to play tonight against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers, according to ESPN’s Malika Andrews.
Irving missed Brooklyn’s last game, Jan. 20 against the Philadelphia 76ers, with a hamstring issue. Irving’s numbers have been solid in the games in which he has played, averaging over 26 points, nearly seven assists and over five rebounds per game. However, for whatever reason, wins have not followed when Irving has played so far this season. The Nets are 5-10 in the 15 games in which Irving has played while going 13-14 in the 27 games he has missed.
Irving has missed much of the season with a shoulder injury before the recent hamstring issue, that appears to have been shortlived. Give that it’s a game against LeBron, we should be in for a pretty good Kyrie performance tonight.
Thursday is the first meeting between the Lakers and Nets since they played two preseason games in China back in October.
Meanwhile, on the Lakers side, Anthony Davis is questionable for tonight in Brooklyn.
