The Brooklyn Nets have made some significant headway in their pursuit of getting back into the Eastern Conference playoff picture after two key wins over the Atlanta Hawks. As Brooklyn moves forward with the rest of their schedule, they are still missing two key players in their rotation.
In the Nets’ initial injury report for Monday’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies, the names on the listing have been consistent with what has been reality for Brooklyn over the past week. Guard Cam Thomas will miss Monday’s contest against the Grizzlies due to the right ankle/midfoot sprain that he suffered in the Nets’ 111-86 win at Memphis on Feb. 26.
Thomas will miss his fourth straight game with this injury and 13th overall game that he has missed this season after missing nine games in November with a left ankle injury. Fellow backcourt mate Ben Simmons is listed as questionable for Monday’s game, but the reason has changed from left leg soreness to left lower back nerve impingement.
Prior to Sunday’s injury report, Simmons has been listed as either being out either due to injury maintenance for his left lower back or left leg soreness. Evan Barnes of Newsday said that he was told that Simmons’ left leg soreness over the past week stems from whatever he is feeling in his back.
Nets status report for tomorrow night's game against the Memphis Grizzlies:
Ben Simmons (left lower back nerve impingement) is QUESTIONABLE
Cam Thomas (right ankle/midfoot sprain) is OUT.
Noah Clowney, Jacob Gilyard, Keon Johnson, and Jaylen Martin are in the G League.
