Nets expected to hire Igor Kokoskov to join Steve Nash’s coaching staff

The Brooklyn Nets are expected to hire Igor Kokoskov to Steve Nash’s coaching staff.

As the Brooklyn Nets continue to pick up the pieces following a pretty wild and overall disappointing 2021-22 season, they are going to beef up coach Steve Nash’s staff after losing valuable assistant Amar’e Stoudemire recently in the offseason.

To try and replace Stoudemire, the Nets are expected to hire former Phoenix Suns head coach, Igor Kokoskov to Nash’s staff. Kokoskov has one season of NBA head coaching under his belt, going 19-63 in the 2018-19 season with the Suns, but he has served as an assistant for 20 years with the Los Angeles Clippers, the Detroit Pistons, the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Suns, the Utah Jazz, the Sacramento Kings, and the Dallas Mavericks.

Kokoskov’s vast experience should do wonders to help Nash through specific situations. The Nets now hope that he can help the franchise bounce back following a very dysfunctional season that resulted in the being swept out of Round 1 by the Boston Celtics.
