Sunday marked the first time the Brooklyn Nets and the Los Angeles Clippers met up in 2019-20.
They were originally set to meet up on March 13 in Los Angeles and again on March 25 at Barclays Center. But, as NBA fans well know, the league shut down after Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert tested positive for COVID-19 on March 11, throwing off the schedule when the league prepared its restart in the Disney bubble.
Had it not been for the hiatus, who knows if what happened on Sunday would have happened at all this season.
Now, that’s not referring to Brooklyn’s 129-120 win over the Clippers, or the Nets securing the No. 7 seed in the East.
The Nets did something on Sunday the rest of the league had a chance to do this season but never did.
Brooklyn held the lead over the Clippers the entire game — from start to finish. No team had done that in 2019-20 until Sunday, per ESPN.
In doing so, the Nets also stand alone as the only team in the NBA “that has had a lead in every game this season.”
The @BrooklynNets are now the only NBA team left that has had a lead in every game this season.
