Brooklyn Nets guard Dennis Schroder and Germany will be facing Serbia on Saturday in the 2024 Paris Olympics bronze medal game.

Brooklyn Nets guard Dennis Schroder and Germany had a chance to play for a gold medal in the 2024 Paris Olympics when they faced France in the semifinals on Thursday. Despite Germany falling to France and losing the chance to play for gold, the Germans will still be able to play for a medal.

Germany lost to France 73-69 despite Schroder putting up 18 points and four assists and Orlando Magic forward Franz Wagner dropping 10 points and eight rebounds. However, due to the loss, Germany was destined to play in the bronze medal game, which is still something to play for in the grand scheme of things in the Olympics.

Later on Thursday, the Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James and the United States took on Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic and Serbia and managed to have one of the best finishes in recent memory. Despite leading by as many as 17 points in the contest, Jokic and company were unable to hold off the Americans as they got a 36-point masterpiece out of Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry.

With the conclusion of these two games, Germany and Serbia will be facing off in the third place game on Saturday with the chance of coming away with some hardware for their work thus far in Paris. Germany will have another tough test against a Serbia team that gave USA a run for their money on one of the biggest stages in the basketball world.
