Nets’ Dennis Schroder, Evan Fournier get into scuffle in exhibition game

Brooklyn Nets guard Dennis Schroder and NBA free-agent Evan Fournier got into a scuffle during their exhibition matchup on Saturday.

The Brooklyn Nets, along with every other team in the NBA, is on hiatus right now as various players are either getting ready for next season or getting ready for the upcoming Paris Olympics. When it comes to Brooklyn point guard Dennis Schroder, he’s ready to go whether he’s playing in the NBA or in international play.

On Saturday, there was a video that circulated on social media of Schroder and NBA free-agent Evan Fournier getting into a scuffle after Fournier was called for a foul on Schroder. Schroder did not like the contact between the two players in what was an exhibition matchup between Schroder’s German national team and Fournier’s French national team.

The two had to broken up after Fournier choked Schroder after he put his hands on Fournier’s neck area following the foul call and Schroder getting to his feet. After the two were separated, they appeared to be get to some kind of middle ground during their conversation, but it was all for nothing as Fournier was still ejected for choking Schroder in the first place.

With France and Germany preparing for the Olympics in the hopes of winning a gold medal, it’s clear that both teams are even takin the exhibition matches seriously. Schroder will look to lead his native Germany as far as possible before coming back to the United States to do the same for the Nets.
