Nets’ Cam Johnson will be gradually returning to play for the time being

Brooklyn Nets head coach Jacque Vaughn said at practice on Saturday that Cam Johnson is gradually working his way back to the court.

Brooklyn Nets forward Cam Johnson has had a slow start to the 2023-24 season as he has been slowly working his way back to the court ever since he suffered his mild hamstring injury the week before the start of training camp. Now, Nets fans now have one less thing to worry about.

According to Evan Barnes of Newsday, Brooklyn head coach Jacque Vaughn said Saturday that Johnson was a full participant in practice. This is great news considering that Johnson did not play in any of Brooklyn’s four preseason games despite suffering no setbacks to his hamstring over the past few weeks.

Also, Vaughn said that Johnson will be eased back into his return to play for the time being so he won’t play any long stretches in Wednesday’s season opener against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Earlier in October, Johnson and Vaughn mentioned that while the hamstring strain was just mild, the team was going be cautious with the injury so that Johnson can fully recover from the ailment and move forward.
