Brooklyn Nets guard Ben Simmons has had a long journey to come back from the back injuries that have affected him for the past few years. It looks like Simmons and the Nets can be relieved that the journey is now over.
According to Ian Begley of SNY, Simmons has finished his rehab from the nerve impingement in his back that prematurely ended his 2022-23 season after just 42 games. Begley states that Simmons is now spending his time doing skill work and conditioning so that he can get ready for training camp in the fall.
Simmons, 27, has played just 42 games in the past two seasons due to a combination of knee and back injuries, including the nerve impingement from this past season. If Simmons is healthy for training camp, he will be competing with Spencer Dinwiddie, starting lead guard from last season, for the starting point guard spot for 2023-24.
Begley did point out that Simmons expects to be a full participant throughout training camp.
