The 2020-21 NBA season may present Nets fans with the best set of alternate jerseys in the history of the franchise.
First, Brooklyn unveiled their Classic Edition throwback uniforms, which pays homage to the 1990-91 Nets — back when the franchise called New Jersey it’s home.
Then on Thursday, the Nets shared their 2020-21 City Edition uniforms, which celebrate the work of late Brooklyn artist Jean-Michel Basquiat, as the team explained with their announcement:
The 2020-21 Brooklyn Nets City Edition uniform is inspired by the art of Jean-Michel Basquiat, an artist with generational talent whose true impact on drawing, painting, music, fashion and more would not be felt until after his passing. The Nets City Edition platform aims to celebrate Basquiat’s work by giving a voice to the voiceless, paying homage to the greats and thanking those who have represented Brooklyn and all it has to offer.
