The 2020-21 Brooklyn Nets are going to look much different from the 2019-20 team with Kevin Durant returning to the floor, Kyrie Irving being his No. 2 and Steve Nash being the rookie who’ll run the show.
But that doesn’t mean — for all the weird things the franchise experienced — 2019-20 was a throwaway year for Brooklyn.
Nets Wire is looking at the good and bad from 2019-20 nd handing out some end of the season grades, starting with Brooklyn’s regular season hero:
Spencer Dinwiddie
STATS: 20.6 PPG | 6.8 APG
As much as Spencer Dinwiddie’s field goal and 3-point percentages took a hit in 2019-20, the point guard did everything that was expected of him and more this season.
Dinwiddie willed the Nets to wins when injuries continue to bog down the team, and he was able to take a step back for Kyrie Irving when the star was healthy.
As a small plus, Dinwiddie is always entertaining on social media. More importantly, whenever he’s asked about the return of Irving and Kevin Durant next year, Dinwiddie always says the right things.
He’s a team guy with a lot of talent. Every team can use more players like that.
GRADE: A+
