The 2020-21 Brooklyn Nets are going to look much different from the 2019-20 team with Kevin Durant returning to the floor, Kyrie Irving being his No. 2 and Steve Nash being the rookie who’ll run the show.

But that doesn’t mean — for all the weird things the franchise experienced — 2019-20 was a throwaway year for Brooklyn.

Nets Wire is looking at the good and bad from 2019-20 nd handing out some end of the season grades. Time to look at one of the forwards who was new to Brooklyn in 2019-20:

DeAndre Jordan

STATS: 13.6 PP36 | 16.4 RP36 | 1.5 BP36

Jordan’s per game numbers may have taken a hit this year, but he also saw a significant drop in minutes. So with him, it’s important to look at his per 36 numbers — because those show his production in 2019-20 was similar to what he’s done each and every year in the league.

His 16.4 rebounds per 36 minutes is the second-best average of his NBA career. Jordan also managed to average double-digit rebounds each night (10), after seeing his four-year streak snap last year thanks, in large part, to his time with the New York Knicks.

Jordan’s 1.5 blocks per 36 minutes isn’t on par with his best years in Los Angeles, but that’s still his best average since his lone All-Star season (2016-17).

Sticking true to his past, Jordan was also part of one of the best lob duos in the NBA alongside Spencer Dinwiddie.

Jordan was great in his role coming off the bench — but after seeing him slide into the starting lineup after Jacque Vaughn took over for Kenny Atkinson, it seems clear what he wants his role to be.
