The Nebraska Volleyball team will play in the first nationally televised regular season game on ABC. The Huskers will face the Louisville Cardinals.

ESPN will broadcast more than 2,600 women’s college volleyball matches on various ESPN platforms, the most games in a season in the network’s history.

The season kickstarts with the AVCA First Serve Showcase in Louisville, Ky. on Aug. 27, with four perennial powerhouses taking the court. 2023 National Runner-Up Nebraska takes on Kentucky at 6:00 p.m. CT, followed by Wisconsin vs. host Louisville – with both matches airing on ESPN2.

Nebraska has been named the Big Ten favorite heading into the 2024 season. The league’s 18 head coaches picked the Huskers as the top team in the conference preseason poll.

Last season, the Cornhuskers finished with a 33-2 record and reached the NCAA Championship. They also won their fourth Big Ten title with a 19-1 record.

In 2023, the Louisville Cardinals finished with a 27-5 record and fell to Pittsburgh in the Elite Eight. Nebraska and Louis will face off on ABC on Saturday, Sept. 22 at 11:30 a.m. CT.
