A Nebraska soccer player has been named the Big Ten Forward of the Year. Eleanor Dale is the first Husker women’s soccer player to earn the conference honor.
Dale led the country in goals (23) and game-winning goals (7). She also led the conference in shots (110), shots on goal (53) and points (50).
The England native now stands at third on Nebraska’s season goal list. She trails Kim Engesser, who scored 26 goals in 1997 and 27 goals in 1998.
Dale was even named to the All-Big Ten First Team with teammate Sarah Weber. Haley Peterson and Jordan Zade were named to the conference Second-Team.
The Nebraska women’s soccer team will take to the field again on Sunday, Oct. 29, at 1:00 p.m. The Huskers will host Ohio State in the quarterfinal round of the Big Ten Tournament.
