The Big Ten made an announcement Tuesday revealing the Big Ten Soccer Players to Watch in 2024. Florence Belzile, Sarah Weber and Jordan Zade earned spots on the list.
The No. 6 Nebraska soccer team enters the 2024 season coming off a stellar season, which ended with a 17-4-3 record, a Big Ten regular-season title, and a trip to the Elite Eight.
Belzile, Weber, and Zade reflect the depth Nebraska has in its roster despite losing Eleanor Dale, the 2023 nation leader in goals. Belzile tallied a team-high 17 assists across the 2023 season, leading the Big Ten and finishing second in the nation. She also tied for the second-most assists in conference and school history.
Sarah Weber earned her third straight Big Ten Player to Watch nod. The First-Team All-Big Ten honoree started 23 games in 2023 and was second on the team in goals with 16 and total points with 38. She also delivered 102 shots on the season, 43 on goal. Weber even recorded four game-winning goals and three braces.
Jordan Zade earned a Second-Team All-Big Ten honoree in 2023. She started all 24 games for the Huskers. Zade finished with nine assists and recorded 12 shots, eight on goal. She helped Nebraska secure seven shutouts.
