On August 15, The Associated Press released their preseason top 25 poll, and the Nebraska Cornhuskers made a cameo. Nebraska did not make the top 25, but they did receive one vote and appeared in the “others receiving votes” category.
Nebraska made their last appearance in the AP Top 25 on September 3, 2019, when they were ranked #25. They made their last appearance in the top ten on October 30, 2016 at #9.
The Cornhuskers are looking to rebound after a disappointing 3-9 season. This year’s team will look very different after an active offseason. Transfer additions include quarterback Casey Thompson, edge rusher Ochaun Mathis, cornerback Tommi Hill, and wide receiver Trey Palmer.
The Cornhuskers have an opportunity to start the season strong, as they will not face a ranked opponent during the first three weeks of the season.
