Nebraska receiver placed on scholarship

A new report says that a Nebraska wide receiver has been placed on scholarship.

A new report says a Nebraska wide receiver has been placed on scholarship. Brady Oltmans has reported that sophomore wide receiver Alex Bullock has officially been placed on scholarship.

The Omaha native appeared in two games on special teams against Georgia Southern and Iowa last season. He made one tackle on the year. Head coach Matt Rhule had a lot of positive things to say about the wide receiver.

“I hope Mr. and Mrs. Bullock bought a car or went on vacation or something. That has got to be a nice penny. Great family. We want to be a program where everything is earned. I tell the guys, ‘You want this, you want that, go earn it.’ They have certainly earned it. The hardest thing about being the head coach is sometimes you see players who are not on scholarship who deserve them.”

Tight end Thomas Fidone had high praise for the wideout.

“Alex Bullock’s probably honestly one of the best receivers, route runners I’ve ever seen. The way he can shift and run routes, it’s crazy.”

Before becoming a Cornhusker, Bullock was a two-way player for Creighton Prep. He caught 54 passes for 765 yards and eight touchdowns as a senior. On defense, he had five interceptions and 35 tackles.
