Another Nebraska defender has entered the transfer portal. Sophomore linebacker Princewill Umanmielen is the latest Blackshirt set to leave the program.
Umanmielen, an Austin, Texas native, finished up his second season with the Huskers this season. He played in each of the program’s 12 regular-season games and recorded 13 tackles, including 2.5 tackles for loss and half a sack.
It was a step back from a true freshman campaign that saw him play in 11 games, including making one start, while earning second-team freshman All-American honors from The Athletic with 22 tackles, including 4.5 tackles for loss and one sack.
Before coming to Lincoln, Umanmielen was a consensus four-star prospect in the 2023 recruiting cycle. In his recruitment, he amassed nearly two dozen offers. It is expected that Umanmielen will be following former Huskers defensive coordinator Tony White to the Florida State Seminoles.
