Nebraska will be without one of their top defenders on Friday afternoon. Linebacker Nick Henrich tore his ACL during the Cornhuskers 24-17 overtime loss to Wisconsin last Saturday.
In ten games this season, Henrich has recorded 42 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and two sacks. Last season, he only played in five games before suffering a season-ending knee injury. The Omaha native made the announcement on social media.
Blessed and thankful no matter what! Gods plan is always better than our own. Can’t wait to watch the boys Friday!
Head coach Matt Rhule told the media on Wednesday that Henrich is a player who’s completely dedicated to his team and teammates.
Nick’s one of those guys. He’s given us everything. And so, Nick, obviously, that was brutal
Henrich will now have to make a decision on whether to return to Nebraska for another season or enter the NFL draft. The linebacker will also take part in senior day festivities during the Huskers game against Iowa on Friday. Find a photo of Henrich’s career below.
