A Nebraska football player has been named one of the top ten freshmen tight ends for the upcoming college football season. Tight end Carter Nelson of Ainsworth, Nebraska, was placed on the list by PFF via On3 Sports.
The eight-man football star made 28 receptions for 525 yards and 11 touchdowns last season. Nelson is the first eight-man player from Nebraska to receive an offer from the Cornhuskers since 2002.
Since becoming the head coach of the Nebraska Cornhuskers, Matt Rhule has repeatedly said that he and his staff will place an emphasis on winning the recruiting battle in the state of Nebraska.
“You always start at home, and we let a couple get out of state this year. I didn’t want that to happen. I want every Nebraska young man growing up to know they can achieve their dreams here.”
