The countdown to August 31 and Nebraska’s season opener against the UTEP Miners is down to just 15 days.
In the spotlight with 15 days to go is perhaps the most hyped prospect in recent Nebraska memory, former five-star quarterback Dylan Raiola.
The son of former Husker center Dominic Raiola, the former five-star prospect flipped his commitment from Georgia to Nebraska during the early signing period this past December. He was also at one point previously committed to Ohio State as well in his recruitment.
He was ranked as a five-star prospect by three of the four major recruiting outlets including being ranked as the No. 2 prospect in the country and top overall quarterback by Rivals.
During his senior season at Buford High School in Georgia, Raiola threw for 2,666 yards and 34 touchdowns to just one interception while leading the Buford Wolves to an 11-2 record.
This fall, Raiola will be thrust into the action right away and is expected to be the Huskers starting quarterback come August 31.
