Less than 50 days remain until the start of the 2024 season for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. With 49 days remaining in the countdown to kickoff, the player spotlight is shifted onto Omaha, Nebraska native and walk-on defensive back Mason Jones.
A redshirt freshman, Jones is entering his second season with the program after a standout career at Omaha Burke High School where he he was a honorable mention All-Metro selection as a senior in 2022.
A tremendous athlete, Burke was your quintessential high school star athlete, playing football, basketball, wrestling, and baseball while also participating in track and field.
Jones has family ties to the program as well, his uncle, Clinton Childs was a member of the Huskers’ 1994 and 1995 national championship winning teams.
