The Nebraska Cornhuskers have added another pitcher in the 2022 class. Pitching prospect JC Gutierrez has committed to the Cornhuskers, according to Evan Bland of The Omaha World-Herald.
Gutierrez just recently decommitted from Texas Tech. He attends La Joya High School in La Joya, Texas. Throughout his high school career, he has made 45 appearances recording a 2.20 ERA, according to MaxPreps.
Gutierrez felt like he “belonged” in Nebraska.
“I had quite a few offers but nothing else where I felt like I belonged,” Gutierrez said per Bland. “Coming where I’m from, having a scholarship and not having your parents pay for college is a goal. I really didn’t want my parents to pay.”
