Nebraska baseball coach Will Bolt announced several additions to the baseball staff. Derek Roy has been hired as the Director of Player Development. Bolt says Roy’s experience will be a great asset to the program.
“We are excited to welcome Derek to Lincoln. Derek brings a variety of experience and is a great asset to our staff. His experience with data and analytics will benefit our student-athletes, and I look forward to him joining our program.”
Garrett Plumlee and Cole Evans have joined the staff as the strength coach and graduate manager.
“Garrett is a great addition to our program and his experience with the Nashville Sounds, TCU and Accelerate Performance Enhancement Center show his ability and success working with high-level baseball players. Cole has been one of our leaders for the last two seasons and knows what it takes to be a part of Husker Baseball. I look forward to him beginning his coaching career in our program.”
Roy joins Nebraska with three years of coach experience, with stops at Georgia State, Wake Technical Community College, and William Peace. Plumlee comes to the Huskers after one season with the Milwaukee Brewers’ Triple-A affiliate Nashville Sounds.
Evans becomes a graduate manager after spending the last two seasons as a player. He played in 105 games and hit .275 with 20 doubles, nine home runs, and 68 RBI.
