Analyzing Friday’s Nebraska at Purdue odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers (6-11, 0-6 Big Ten) and No. 5 Purdue Boilermakers (13-2, 2-2) meet Friday in West Lafayette, Ind. Tip-off in the battle at Mackey Arena is set for 6:30 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Nebraska vs. Purdue odds and lines and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

Rankings courtesy of the Ferris Mowers Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

Nebraska is just 1-9 over its last 10 games and has shot just 41.7% from the floor and 29.3% from 3-point range over that stretch. Rebounding has also been a crushing problem for the ‘Huskers as they’ve been out-boarded by 10 or more rebounds in five of their last six games.

The Boilermakers rank fifth in the nation in scoring with 85.1 points per game. Their two Big Ten stumbles — Dec. 9 at Rutgers and Jan. 3 vs. Wisconsin — came in games they shot under 42% from the field. Purdue was 8-0 on its home floor until the loss to Wisconsin.

Against the spread

The Cornhuskers are 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall while the Boilermakers are 0-4 ATS in their last four games.

Purdue has been a favorite of 9 or more points in its last eight games but has gone just 1-7 ATS across that span. Nebraska has been an underdog of 9 or more points in three of its last four games and has covered in all three.

The recent UN covers were against Ohio State, Michigan State, and Illinois. Nebraska is a solid shooting team inside the arc, and the Cornhuskers post good numbers on both sides of the turnover exchange.

Recent losses have been by final deficits that don’t really match the game flow of a full 40 minutes. Look for the visitors to settle this deficit somewhere in the 15-to-18-point range.

TAKE NEBRASKA +19.5 (-105).

Over/Under

The combined Over record for the Cornhuskers and Boilermakers is 20-12. The Over is 8-3 in Nebraska’s last 11 games against teams playing .600 or better ball.

Look for the Cornhuskers to stay in this game enough to spiral the total to the 160 neighborhood. BACK THE OVER 155.5 (-108).
