Nebraska at Michigan odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Nebraska at Michigan odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers (3-6, 2-4 Big Ten) square off against the No. 3 Michigan Wolverines (9-0, 6-0) Saturday at Michigan Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET (ABC). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Nebraska vs. Michigan odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Cornhuskers are currently on a 3-game losing streak since defeating Rutgers 14-13 on Oct. 7. Nebraska’s latest loss was a 20-13 loss to Minnesota last week, but they were able to cover as 14.5-point underdogs.

The Wolverines are coming off a 52-17 win over Rutgers last week where they covered as 26-point favorites. Michigan currently owns the No. 3 spot in the College Football Playoff Rankings (behind Georgia and Ohio State), but they still have to play Nebraska, Illinois, and Ohio State in the final 3 weeks of the regular season.

Nebraska at Michigan picks and predictions

Prediction

Michigan 45, Nebraska 13

Moneyline

Just AVOID the moneyline in this game as the Wolverines are massive favorites at home. Taking Michigan to win straight up comes with a lot of risk considering the odds of them coming away with a victory, but the return would be minuscule.

Against the spread

MICHIGAN -30.5 (-112) is a big spread, but I don’t believe Nebraska will have what it takes to slow down Michigan or produce points on the offensive side of the ball. The Wolverines can pound the rock with RB Blake Corum and make enough plays through the air to come away with an easy win at home.

The favorite is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings between the Cornhuskers and the Wolverines. Michigan is also 4-0 ATS in its last 4 home games against a team with a losing road record and 5-1 ATS in its last 6 games against a team with a losing record.

Over/Under

Even with both teams combining for a 6-12 record to the Over this season, OVER 48.5 (-108) seems a little low. The Wolverines could score most of — if not all — of the points to reach the Over at home.

Despite Michigan’s 3-6 record to the Over thus far, the Over has hit in 2 of its last 3 games.
