Initially, the Brooklyn Nets expected Caris LeVert would be out for four to six weeks following the surgery on his right thumb to repair damaged ligaments. LeVert is back to shooting, but his progress has been limited otherwise — especially when compared to Kyrie Irving (right shoulder impingement), who’s back to at practice for the Nets.
Prior to Friday’s game, Kenny Atkinson informed reporters LeVert is still on track to return within the four to six weeks time frame, per Malika Andrews of ESPN. Though, given where he’s at in the recovery process, it seems likely LeVert will return on the back end of the timetable.
Because, in addition to confirming the timetable, Atkinson also told reporters LeVert has yet to be cleared for contact.
Dec. 12 marks four weeks since Caris LeVert had surgery on the ligaments in his right thumb. Kenny Atkinson says that LeVert is on track with the 4-6 week timeline initially given. LeVert is back on the court, Atkinson says, but has not added any contact work yet.
