The Spurs didn’t make it easy, but the Warriors were able to grind out an important win on the road on Saturday to hold onto the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference.
Without Klay Thompson in the lineup, the Warriors had five players score at least 12 points in a balanced offensive effort, and held the Spurs to just 94 points on the defensive end.
Draymond Green continued his run of strong play and was two assists shy of a triple-double with 12 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists, while Jordan Poole had a rough night from the field, shooting 3-of-19 but finishing with 18 points.
The win leaves the Warriors one game clear of the Dallas Mavericks in the race for the third seed – but the Mavericks hold the season-series tiebreaker over Golden State. A loss on Sunday to the Pelicans could potentially drop the Warriors to fourth.
