NBA Twitter reacts to Warriors dropping Game 1 vs. Kings to start playoffs

After the Warriors dropped Game 1 to the Kings in a thriller, the NBA community on Twitter exploded with different reactions on Saturday night.

To open the first round of the playoffs, Game 1 between the No. 6 seed Golden State Warriors and No. 3 seed Sacramento Kings provided fireworks.

The Warriors landed the first punch, jumping out to an early lead. Led by Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole, four members of the Warriors tallied double figures in the first half as theGolden State carried a six-point lead into halftime. 

In the second half, the Kings arrived as the Warriors’ road struggles began to show again. In the third quarter, the Kings quickly erased the Warriors’ advantage, stealing a one-point lead before the start of the final frame. 

While Steph Curry kept things close for the Warriors, it wasn’t enough down the stretch against the former Kentucky backcourt partnership of Fox and Malik Monk. Fox tallied 15 of his game-high 38 points in the fourth quarter to help the Kings take an early 1-0 lead in the opening-round series against the defending champions. 

Monk added 32 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the field with three boards and two assists in 29 minutes off the bench in Sacramento’s narrow 126-123 win over Golden State. 

Curry led the Warriors with 30 points on 11-of-20 shooting from the field with six made triples in 37 minutes for the Warriors. 

In his long-awaited return to the court, Wiggins notched 17 points on 7-of-16 shooting from the floor with four blocks, three rebounds and an assist in 28 minutes off the bench.
