The Golden State Warriors seemed poised to score their first road victory of the season on Thursday night in Orlando, leading 90-75 with 4:20 remaining in the third quarter.
By the end of the period, the Magic only trailed by two.
Orlando closed the quarter on a 21-8 run – scoring 43 points in the third overall – and Jalen Suggs hit a clutch three with 31 seconds remaining in the fourth to give the Magic a huge win.
Klay Thompson had a chance at a game-winner as time expired after the Magic swarmed Steph Curry, but his attempt came up short.
The Warriors wasted another brilliant game from Steph Curry in the loss, as the former MVP put up 39 points and nine assists. Together with Thompson, the duo made 15 3-pointers, but Golden State couldn’t slow down the Magic offense.
The Warriors became just the second defending champion in NBA history to lose their first five games on the road.
