The Philadelphia 76ers and the Brooklyn Nets were locked in a classic playoff battle on Thursday night at the Barclays Center.
The Nets were fighting for their playoff lives. The Sixers were looking to go up 3-0. A great deal of crazy playoff basketball ensued.
Joel Embiid and Nic Claxton scuffled in the early minutes, and it looked as if Embiid would be ejected when he kicked Claxton. Instead, Embiid was hit with a flagrant one, and Claxton was hit with a technical foul.
James Harden was ejected for a flagrant two foul late in the third quarter, and the Sixers entered the fourth quarter down by six.
Claxton picked up his second technical foul, causing his own ejection, in the fourth. Then Tyrese Maxey took over late as the Sixers knocked off the Nets, 102-97.
