For the third straight game, the Los Angeles Lakers not only lost, they got blown out, this time by the Minnesota Timberwolves.
It happened by virtue of the same tired old formula: Lakers fall behind big early, they make a run to make things seem semi-competitive, but they don’t have enough juice to even make the final score look respectable.
Karl-Anthony Towns and the Timberwolves routed L.A. on Wednesday, 124-104, and it was ugly.
The Lakers shot just 10-of-45 from 3-point range, and none of their main rotation players had even a passable night offensively.
Once again, the NBA community on Twitter let its disgust for the Lakers be known. At this point, it’s becoming more sad than funny, as many figured the Lakers would be looking like championship contenders by this point of the season.
