The Philadelphia 76ers were able to knock off the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday 118-114 in order to bounce back from a loss at home. On a night when the Sixers saw a 17-point lead turn into a deficit, they turned to their superstar big man to lead the way and get it done on the road.
Joel Embiid had himself a big night going for 35 points on 13-for-19 shooting with 17 rebounds and five assists on the night he turned 28-years old. The MVP candidate went to work from the jump and he was in a zone where he was not going to allow the Sixers to lose this game.
Of course, get some help from Tyrese Maxey, James Harden, and Tobias Harris, but Embiid was a big reason for Philadelphia coming away with a win.
NBA Twitter gave their best reactions to the big performance Embiid put on against a big Cavs team even while missing Jarrett Allen.
