NBA Twitter reacts to Scottie Barnes’ Shaqtin’ moment in Clutch Challenge

Fans watching along at home had a field day with Scottie Barnes and Tyrese Maxey after bricking several shots in the Clutch Challenge.

Toronto Raptors rookie Scottie Barnes on Friday was among the players that participated in the Clutch Challenge during the NBA Rising Stars game, and the fourth pick likely wished he hadn’t after his performance.

The Clutch Challenge took place between Games 2 and 3 of the Rising Stars game. The teams, which were split into pairs, competed to make shots from five locations on the court tied to iconic shots made by members of the NBA’s 75th-anniversary team.

Barnes teamed up with Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey and the two struggled to make shots, particularly the closest shot on the court. Barnes missed all four shot attempts from close range and failed to replicate Magic Johnson’s iconic baby hook shot in the NBA Finals.

There is footage of the incident, which is pure comedy.

Certainly, Barnes’ shot was not on but some blame should be placed on Maxey. He missed two of those shots himself so it wasn’t only Barnes’ fault. Surely, you can guess that Barnes and Maxey didn’t win the event as that honor went to Tyrese Haliburton and Desmond Bane.

Of course, fans watching along at home had a field day on social media with Barnes and Maxey. The TV broadcast on TNT, featuring Adam Lefkoe, Grant Hill and Brendan Haywood, even called it a “Shaqtin’ A Fool” moment for the two players.

We compiled some of the best reactions from #NBATwitter.
