Just as hope has been renewed that Kyrie Irving could soon become a full-time player for the Brooklyn Nets, the superstar guard delivered his best performance of the season in a key game, leading the Nets past the Milwaukee Bucks on the road.
The Nets were 9.5-point underdogs on Saturday against the defending NBA champions, but Irving put the team on his back, scoring a season-high 38 points to go along with five assists and five rebounds.
It was Irving’s fifth 30-point game of the season in 14 appearances, and Irving snapped a personal eight-game losing streak in game’s he’s started.
Giannis Antetokounmpo had a chance to hit a game-tying three at the buzzer, but the Nets held on to win, 126-123.
