The Philadelphia 76ers earned one of the biggest wins in recent franchise history on Tuesday when they defeated the Boston Celtics, 115-103, in Game 5 of their semifinal series. They lead the Celtics, 3-2, in the series and are one win away from advancing to the Eastern Conference finals.
The Sixers received big nights from up and down the roster. Joel Embiid delivered 33 points, and Tyrese Maxey had 30. James Harden added 17 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds. Tobias Harris added 16 points and 11 rebounds. Danuel House Jr. hopped off the bench and poured in 10 points while PJ Tucker did the little things to get it done.
The Sixers bothered Jayson Tatum and held the Boston star to 11-for-27 shooting from the floor and 3-for-11 from deep. Al Horford was 0-for-7 from deep and the Celtics shot just 39.8% from the floor.
