NBA Twitter reacts to Joel Embiid, Sixers coming up short in loss to Heat

NBA Twitter gives its best reactions to Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers coming up short in a home loss to the Miami Heat.

The Philadelphia 76ers were looking to bounce back. After coming up short to the front-running Boston Celtics on Saturday, they played host to the Miami Heat, who entered the contest on Monday reeling.

The Heat had lost four in a row and had been unable to find a rhythm throughout the season. Considering the lack of size and the poor shooting from the Heat all season, this looked like the perfect bounce-back game for the Sixers.

Instead, Philadelphia committed 20 turnovers, and Miami ended up shooting 15-for-37 from deep. The Sixers also had a tough time containing Jimmy Butler and it resulted in a 101-99 loss at home. Butler had 23 points, 11 rebounds, nine assists, and four steals while coming up clutch late.

Joel Embiid had another big night going for 27 points and 12 rebounds, but he was rejected late by Bam Adebayo on a shot that would have given the Sixers the lead. James Harden added 20 points, 12 assists, and six rebounds and he missed the game-winning triple at the buzzer while Tyrese Maxey had 23 off the bench.
