Following their blowout win over the San Antonio Spurs on Monday, the Golden State Warriors made the decision to send former No. 2 overall draft pick James Wiseman to their G League affiliate in Santa Cruz.
To get more practice and consistent reps during game action, the 21-year-old could spend an “extended period” in the G League with Santa Cruz, according to Warriors coach Steve Kerr.
Prior to entering the game in the fourth quarter of Golden State’s blowout win over San Antonio on Monday, Wiseman recorded three consecutive DNPs. Wiseman played 16 or more minutes in Golden State’s first four games.
Through 11 games, Wiseman is averaging 6.8 points on 58.8% shooting from the field with 3.8 rebounds in 13.4 minutes per contest.
The Santa Cruz Warriors will host the South Bay Lakers on Saturday. Santa Cruz will then head on the road for a back-to-back against the Salt Lake Stars next week.
Following Wiseman’s move to the G League, the NBA community on Twitter weighed in with different reactions. Here’s a look at what fans and analysts were saying on Monday night.
