NBA Twitter reacts to Andrew Wiggins’ game-tying 3-pointer for Team Canada vs. Czech Republic in Olympic qualifier

After Andrew Wiggins hit a heroic triple for Team Canada to send their Olympic qualifier to overtime against the Czech Republic, NBA Twitter exploded.

After back-to-back wins in FIBA’s Olympic qualifying tournament in Victoria, British Columbia, Andrew Wiggins led Team Canada against the Czech Republic on Saturday.

Behind Tomas Satoransky and Blake Schilb, Team Czech Republic jumped out to a controlling lead through three quarters. However, a furious run from Canada in the fourth quarter cut into Czech Republic’s advantage in the final minutes.

Despite a comeback run, Canada trailed by nine points with under a minute remaining in the contest. Yet, Wiggins had an answer.

Following a triple by New York Knicks forward RJ Barrett, Wiggins rattled off six consecutive points, including a game-tying 3-pointer with 11 seconds remaining.

The heroic jumper from the Golden State Warriors forward was good enough to send the game into an overtime period. Despite Wiggins knocking down another clutch jumper in overtime, it wasn’t enough to hold off Satoranksky and the Czech Republic.

Team Canada’s road to the Olympics came to a close in the fashion of an overtime loss, 103-101.

Wiggins finished the contest with 22 points on 8-of-15 shooting from the floor with eight rebounds, three assists and three steals in 34 minutes for Canada.

Following Wiggins’ gutsy 3-pointer at the end of regulation, social media was buzzing with a flurry of different reactions. Here is a look at some of the top tweets after the game-tying jumper from the former No. 1 overall pick.
