Okay, NBA fans: you’re getting waaaaaay ahead of yourselves.
But I get it. Thinking about the NBA’s best player and defending MVP getting traded is something fun to talk about.
On Thursday night, the NBA draft lottery revealed the Golden State Warriors nabbed the No. 2 pick in the 2020 draft. Considering the Dubs are going to have Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Andrew Wiggins back together and healthy, this is icing on the cake.
Meanwhile, the Milwaukee Bucks won Game 2 of their series against the Orlando Magic, but what if they end up short of a title? And what if Giannis Antetokounmpo doesn’t sign an extension in the offseason and faces free agency in 2021?
Would the Bucks deal the Greek Freak so they don’t lose him for nothing?
That’s where the Warriors come in. Maybe they’ve got the assets to trade for him?

Bucks fans, I get it. You don't WANT to trade Giannis. And obviously, neither does your organization. But if you get upset early, and Giannis demands a trade, then you have no choice. Is this an acceptable package from Golden State?

After the Bucks fail again, Giannis will want out. Number 2 pick, Wiggins, throw in Ky Bowman. Then deal Draymond to like Atlanta or New York for cash and a bench guy to release. Free up the cap space. Boom.

Minnesota should offer their 2020 pick (no. 1) to Golden State for Minnesota's unprotected 2021 first now that it's settled as no. 1 overall.
Golden State should then offer picks 1, 2, Wiggins, and unprotected firsts in 2022, 2024 for Giannis.
