The NBA is reportedly planning to allow teams to bring up to 17 players into the season restart at the Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, Florida, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Teams had started petitioning the NBA to allow for expanded rosters heading into the season as insurance for potential sickness or injury. The new 17-player limit per roster includes those signed to two-way contracts, who were previously ineligible to play.
The NBA currently doesn’t plan on stopping play if a player were to test positive for the coronavirus and is said to be working on ways to replace that player. If a player, coach or staff member tests positive for the coronavirus, they would be subjected to isolation for a given amount of time.

Due to the unusual circumstances surrounding the coronavirus, teams are looking at all possible options to ensure enough players are at Disney World in the event one needs to be potentially replaced. The NBA heard those concerns and worked to accommodate that request.
